Here comes Santa Claus! SantaCon in Seaside Heights

Slews of Santas stroll through Seaside Heights in SantaCon

SEASIDE HEIGHTS -- SantaCon Seaside Heights brought hundreds of costumed Clauses to the borough for a day of bar hopping and holiday celebration that raised money for charity Dec. 13.

For a $25 donation, participants received a beer mug, a special embroidered patch, raffle tickets and a poker run entry. The net proceeds of Santacon will be donated to Chive Charities, a nonprofit that gives grants to veterans, military families, first responders and those suffering from rare medical conditions.

Santacon Seaside kicked off at 11 a.m. at Hook's Bar and Grill, where red-suit-clad revelers were asked to drop off one unwrapped toy and two nonperishable food items to be donated to local charities. The toys were to be distributed by charities Ma Deuce Deuce and Vetwork, which support veterans and their families.

Santas, Mrs. Clauses and various elves then proceeded to various bars and restaurants on the Boulevard and Ocean Terrace, where specials and giveaways greeted them.
